We Help Struggling Readers Learn to Read

At the Hammond Reading Academy in Steamboat we look at the whole child and determine the best possible way to teach each child to read. First, we look at your child’s current reading level; we then determine what areas are blocking your child from picking up reading. Next, we design an individualized reading plan and administer it.

Reading is essential for all academic areas, including social studies and math. Even physical education now has a reading component. A vast amount of research has been done in the area of reading, but unfortunately this research does not readily make its way to the classroom. Our goal at Steamboats’ Hammond Reading Academy is to take what works in reading education and help struggling readers enhance their reading skills.

We believe that everyone can learn to read with appropriate reading instruction!
